The jumping physics and jumping puzzles in GW2 are not up to my personal standards which is one of the (many) reasons why I dislike HoT. When I play a platformer/jumping puzzle, I compare it to stuff like Mario, Sonic and Crash Bandicoot. I’m a big retrogamer and I love platformers, both 2D and 3D. Personally I fell into the second category. Using mounts in HoT maps sort of feels like doing an extreme version of motor cross which can be entertaining in its own right. If you did not enjoy the vanilla GW2 jumping puzzles then you will dislike HoT maps without mounts. Figuring out how to get from point A to point B can be a very tricky and somewhat rewarding exercise. If you enjoyed the vanilla GW2 jumping puzzles then you’ll enjoy HoT without mounts as the maps are “one giant jumping puzzle”.
